Prophets are a term to describe the early readers of the original novel Ways of Survival, and thus had important revelation-like foreknowledge of the story. It was initially a self-created term, as many of the Prophets found that people would not believe them if they simply told them that their world was a novel. Because of this, the term "prophet" was used as a digestible term for everybody.
They are known by the number order in which they stopped reading, described as "#th renouncer" or as "#th to get off". They first appear in Main Scenario 4. They oppose the Twelve Apostles; people who read far longer to the 50th chapter.
There were 53 members known inside the Seoul Dome when Jung Youngho took over the station prior to their introduction,[1] and there are 48 members when Kim Dokja first meets them.[2] These prophets, save Lee Sungkook and Jung Minseob, were all killed by Lesser Dragon Igneel after being tricked by the 12 Apostles. However, Lee Sungkook and Jung Minseob were presumably killed during Main Scenario 7.
Meanwhile, many prophets likely died during Main Scenario 1. It is unknown what happened to many of the readers that existed outside of Seoul,[3] but information about Ways of Survival did not leak out to the constellations through them. They are eventually all found and killed by Han Sooyoung, who had special abilities to identify them.[4]
