The Monarch of the Great Abyss is the 999th round's Kim Namwoon. He serves as a calamity.
Appearance[]
The Monarch of the Great Abyss is a man with a jet-black aura and bandages wrapped around one arm. He has long white hair, which is later cut with Unbreakable Faith by Kim Dokja.[1] He always wears bandages on one of his arms to cover his self harm scars.
After killing Asmodeus, he wears an eye patch taken from Asmodeus's Incarnation Body.[2]
Personality[]
The 999th round Kim Namwoon behaves much like the other versions of himself, however he also possesses a strong sense of justice along side his violent tendencies, likely influenced by the heroic actions of the 999th Yoo Joonghyuk. Kim Namwoon deeply wants to be acknowledged by others, especially Lee Jihye, as being good enough to fill Yoo Joonghyuk's shoes. He blames himself for 999th Yoo Joonghyuk's death. This along with his past with self harm points towards him having a rather low image of himself.
History[]
Kim Namwoon was a year two student at Chungil High School before the scenarios. At some point he engaged in self harm that left him with scars on his arm.
Synopsis[]
The Monarch of the Great Abyss is summoned by Asmodeus during the Great Apocalypse scenario, using the Relic of the Abyss.[2]

According to Han Sooyoung, Kim Namwoon likes Lee Jihye because she trusts and follows Yoo Joonghyuk; he wants her to acknowledge him and forgive him for making the mistake that lead to the death of the 999th turn's Yoo Joonghyuk.[3] He has a crush on her which has persisted over the thousands of years spent as an outer god even gaining a story from it.
Oldest Dream[]
Kim Namwoon is sympathetic to the Oldest Dream and angered by the injustice of what he has been through.

- Like the other Outer Gods, Kim Namwoon's outer god modifier comes from a deity in the Cthulhu Mythos: Nodens, "Lord of the Great Abyss."
