Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint Wiki

Kim Namwoon is a side character in Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. He was one of Yoo Joonghyuk's companions in Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World.

Appearance[]

Kim Namwoon is a thin young man with dyed white hair. His bangs are long and come down to his eyes. The whites of his eyes are naturally visible above and below his irises. At the beginning of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, he wears a school uniform with a nameplate attached.[2][3]

In the Underworld his hair is longer and he wears a tunic with bandages on one arm.

Personality[]

Kim Namwoon is a military otaku and a chuunibyou. Despite his bloodthirsty first impression, he has a laidback personality, as shown by how he enjoyed being in Tartarus and felt grateful to Kim Dokja for killing him.[4] He is shown to respect strong people even if they are his enemies, as shown in his respect for Dokja after his death and his respect for the 1863rd Yoo Joonghyuk. He has a love for mecha series and so enjoys working on the Underworld's giant soldiers because they are like Gundams.

History[]

Prior to the events of Omniscient Reader, Kim Namwoon was a year two student at Chungil High School.[5] He

Synopsis[]

Kim Namwoon is riding in the same subway carriage as Kim Dokja when the scenarios begin. He is the first in the carriage to accept that they would have to kill a living creature to fulfill the first scenario.[6] He tries to kill an elderly woman, and after he realizes that Kim Dokja wants to save the woman, tries to kill him as well. However, the attempt is ineffective due to Kim Dokja's coin boosted stats, and he dies after being unable to kill anyone within the time limit of the scenario.[7]

He later reappears as an denizen of Tartarus, encountering Kim Dokja moments after the latter arrives in the Underworld.[8][9] In response to Kim Dokja's questioning, Kim Namwoon tells him that he hasn't seen a young woman with white hair appear in the Underworld recently, and that he had been working on the construction of Hades's Giant Soldier, which Kim Namwoon thinks of as a Gundam. When they hear the smithy's manager coming, he grabs Kim Dokja's shoulder and leads him to his workshop, where Kim Dokja can pretend to hammer and avoid being punished. This amiable behavior surprises Kim Dokja, as does his explanation that he had reflected after coming to Tartarus and is thankful that Kim Dokja had killed him.

However, after he finds out that Kim Dokja is still alive, his attitude becomes less friendly, and when Kim Dokja asks if there is anywhere to hide from the administrator, Kim Namwoon suggests the undoubtedly fatal solution of going inside of the Gundam. Later, as Kim Dokja is guided to Hades' palace, he looks back and waves to Kim Namwoon, who stares back blankly.[4]

After Kim Dokja accomplished the task given by Persephone, they meet up so Dokja can give Namwoon a hint of what is to come.[10]

Kim Namwoon gives Dokja the special words to summon the Giant Soldier Pluto and Dokja uses them to summon it and Kim Namwoon in the 73rd Demon Realm to defeat Duke Syswitz.
