Han Myungoh was the finance department head of Kim Dokja's former company, Mino Soft. He accompanied Kim Dokja's party through the earliest scenarios. After disappearing midway through the scenarios, he resurfaced in the 73rd Demon Realm as the demon king Asmodeus's vassal, having fathered the body that Asmodeus occupied.
Appearance[]
Han Myungoh's appearance is that of an average company executive. He has thin, slightly graying hair. He has a slightly fat belly due to age and lack of exercise.[1]
As a demon he has horns on his head with one horn being broken. In the webtoon his demon form has grey skin and pointed ears with black speckles on his skin as well as two horns on left side of his head instead of one. His eyes are also gold with black sclera.
Personality[]
Han Myungoh is an overbearing and unlikable man, described as someone people avoided.[2]He is also vain, prone to boasting for days on end about his prized assets.[3]Though self-absorbed, he still cares to some limited degree about outsiders, as seen when he tried to make Kim Namwoon stop hurting an older woman.[4]
He is notably misogynistic; after Yoo Sangah rebuffed his romantic advances, he escalated to stealing her property to get her attention. He was unwilling to admit his faults, and indeed remained largely self-absorbed until his encounters with Asmodeus.[5]
For most of his life, he is deeply cowardly, which he even admits later on.[6] He is often seen running away from confrontations and hiding behind those stronger than him.
However, after the birth of his daughter, his personality drastically changes. Once cowardly, he spends the rest of the scenarios vehemently fighting for his daughter's life. He becomes a father willing to endure any risk to save his daughter, such as when he jumps into the "Mythical Battlefield" (where there were high-level enemy constellations) to save her, as well as when he goes back to the Isle of Reincarnators to find his daughter, despite the dangers of the aftereffects of the Apocalypse Dragon. Additionally, he manages to reconcile with Kim Dokja and his friends, and joins <Kim Dokja's Company> as one of their members.[7]
History[]
Han Myungoh was the Finance Department Head at Mino Soft. He was known to be someone who reached his position due to his connections, and it was rumored that he was the son of the affiliate company's head.[2] It is implied that he often used his position and authority to boss others around.[8] He often boasted about his possessions. At some point during Kim Dokja's time at Mino Soft, he boasted about a private yacht he owned at his Maldives villa.[3] A few days before the scenarios began, he had bragged about his new Mercedes-Benz S-Class car.[9]
Like other men at Mino Soft, he tried to romantically pursue Yoo Sangah, the most beautiful female employee. Han Myungoh offered to drive her home, but was refused; in retaliation, he stole the bicycle she rode home on, hoping this would force her to take him up on his offer. However, she took the subway instead, and he followed her, putting them both on the 3434 Train to Bulgwang when the scenarios started.[5]
Synopsis[]
Early scenarios[]
During Main Scenario 1, he is on the same carriage as Kim Dokja and Yoo Sangah. He attempts to bribe the dokkaebi Bihyung to leave everyone alone, only for Bihyung to burn his money and threaten him, terrifying him.[2] He kills one of the insects Kim Dokja releases in the carriage and survives the scenario. After choosing Lame Trickster in the Sponsor Selection[9] and escaping the train with the four other survivors, he heads for Dongho Bridge as instructed by Sub Scenario: Escape. However, as his group crosses the bridge, the first scenario's deceased turn into zombies and attack them. The bridge is destroyed and the Even Bridge is activated by the onlooking constellations. Han Myungoh's leg is injured,[10] but due to his stigma [One-Legged Swift Horse], he's able to grab Yoo Sangah and cross the Even Bridge, leaving Kim Dokja behind.[1]
At Geumho Station, he joins Cheon Inho's Cheoldoo Group, whom he tries to get to attack Kim Dokja when he appears.[11] However, Cheon Inho acts pseudo-friendly with Kim Dokja, and when Kim Dokja's party heads into the tunnel towards Yaksu Station to kill monsters for food, he forces Han Myungoh to accompany them. When the party encounters ground rats, Han Myungoh hangs at the back of the fight and is unhelpful.[12] In the end, he is caught by a ground rat. Trying to save himself, he grabs Yoo Sangah, but drags her along with himself.[13] The duo are taken to the Edge of Darkness and held as food for the Dark Keeper. Kim Dokja and Lee Gilyoung appear to save them, but during the battle, Han Myungoh is grabbed and turned into a host for the Dark Keeper's eggs. He stays out of the rest of the fight, and upon Kim Dokja's defeat of the Dark Keeper, darts in to greedily kill the Keeper behind the other man's back. This brings Asmodeus' curse upon Han Myungoh, shocking him.[14]He remains subdued for the rest of the excursion.[15]Upon returning to Geumho Station, the station inhabitants break out into battle, and in the chaos, Han Myungoh slips away unnoticed.[16]
After this escape, he spends most of his time fearing for his life and fearing the child growing within him. The curse from Asmodeus causes the realization of 'the most terrible thing' that Han Myungoh's could think of at the moment, which was himself giving birth.[6] Although he initially strives to kill Kim Dokja, as the months pass, he manages to survive throughout the numerous horrific crises and realizes that his child inside perhaps saved him. He eventually changes course to resolve to give birth no matter what, and gives birth to a beautiful daughter.[17]
Myungoh spends the rest of the time devoted to defending his daughter. Despite nearly dying many times, he manages to live up to the period before the Dark Castle Scenario, but eventually gets surrounded by the demons and demon nobles. For the first time in his life, he prays, and wishes for just the life and safety of his child. The prayer is answered by Asmodeus, who makes Han Myungoh's daughter his new incarnation body, and grants Han Myungoh a demon noble title as the child's parent. Although they are both saved, Han Myungoh feels immense regret from being separated and for handing over his daughter to such a being.[6]
73rd Demon Realm[]
He is transported to the demon realm, and works for the demon Duke Syswitz, cowed by the strength of many of the demons. While guarding the entrance to a meeting between demon dukes, he is surprised by the start of the Revolutionary Scenario. An executioner comes and reveals the revolutionary to be named Yoo Joonghyuk, a name he recognizes.[18] Later, Han Myungoh walks down the streets of the industrial complex, conversing with Earl Silocke. They are blocked by incited citizens inspired by the revolutionary. Myungoh comes up with a plan to end the revolution based on fear.[19] He directs the executioners to aim to kill civilians instead of trying to kill the revolutionary to break their morale. After the chaos ends, he approaches the leaders of the revolution revealing himself as the spy. He tells them that the revolution is doomed to fail, but that everyone will live if they surrender now. As the enraged crowd encroaches, Myungoh tells who he thinks is Yoo Joonghyuk that he can help save him, but Kim Dokja, pretending to be Yoo Joonghyuk, refuses. Myungoh slips away, but Kim Dokja is able to silence the crowd by killing the executioners who were implanted to incite them. He then catches Myungoh trying to leave and calls Myungoh by his real name. [20]
Han Myungoh asks Kim Dokja to help him save his daughter and in return he will help with the revolution.
He comes along to First Murim.

- Stigmas

- Demon Earl: Han Myungoh becomes a high level demon after his reappearance, due to his bond with Asmodeus, his power was recognized by Kim Dokja only for this as superior to common incarnations, even finding him superior to Mark who has rare and heroic private attributes[21]
Relationships[]
Han Dareum[]
Han Myungoh loves his daughter very much and is willing to do anything to protect her. Han Myungoh originally feared that he might die in childbirth or that the inhuman child would consume him and so tried to take measure to get the pregnancy to fail, such as eating a lot of soy sauce, however, over time his feelings changed and he felt that whether it killed him or not, giving birth to this child would be a good thing because the child saved him and was what pushed him to survive that far into the scenarios.[17] Not much is seen from Dareum herself but she seems to love her father as well.
Kim Dokja[]
Han Myungoh looked down on Dokja a frequently bad mouthed him, however, after meeting him again in the Demon Realm he is willing to be subordinate to him in order to save his daughter. When he first entered the Demon Realm he wanted to kill Dokja as revenge for his situation but came to feel at peace with wht happened.[17] Over time he comes to trust Dokja as leader and be thankful for his help though they never fully get along.
Yoo Sangah[]
Han Myungoh treated Yoo Sangah poorly at work by harassing her with unwanted advances and even stealing her bike in an attempt to make her accept a car ride from him. In the scenarios he attempts to make her rely on him but completely fails. When he meets her again in the Demon King Selection he avoids her and seems afraid of her, likely because he fears she may try and get revenge for his actions.

Trivia[]
- Han Myungoh is a fan of martial arts novels and claims to have read over 300 of them.[23]
- Dareum was supposedly birthed through Han Myungoh's heart. The exact mechanics of this are never specified other than it was extremely painful.[17] Han Myungoh uses 마음 to refer to his heart when he says 마음으로 낳았네 which is a non literal and means he could potentially be saying that Dareum was willed into existence by the love in his heart rather than physically born.
- Han Myungoh used to carry around a copy of Marcus Aurelius' Meditations to brag about being well read despite never reading it.[24]
- Han Myungoh is seen smoking multiple times in the Demon Realm. It is unknown if he did so before or started during the scenarios.
