Episode 9: Chapter 42 - Omniscient Sunfish (6) is the forty-second chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Summary[]
Kim Dokja is startled by Yoo Joonghyuk's sudden return to awareness, as is Simulation. The Theatre Dungeon master reasserts control over Yoo Joonghyuk, and Kim Dokja is beaten back. Noticing that Lee Gilyoung is showing signs of exertion, he addresses Yoo Joonghyuk and reminds him of his promise to hit him once. Activating Unbreakable Faith's Blade of Faith option and turning the ether to fire-attribute, he uses the Duke of Loyalty and Warfare's stigma [Song of the Sword] to bombard Yoo Joonghyuk with arrows of burning ether. The intense attack is enough to temporarily halt Yoo Joonghyus, and Kim Dokja starts moving towards Simulation instead.
However, Yoo Joonghyuk uses his [Recovery] skill and bolts after Kim Dokja, Kim Dokja calls out to Lee Gilyoung, whose insect-controlling powers have successfully called a 6th grade insect king to the location. The insect king, Titanoptera, bursts through the ceiling of the Theatre Dungeon and enters the fight, attacking Yoo Joonghyuk and holding him in place. Kim Dokja seizes the opportunity to go after the distracted Simulation.
Knowing there isn't long left for Lee Gilyoung's skill to be used, Kim Dokja rushes Simulation. The Theatre Dungeon master uses multiple delirium-inducing skills on Kim Dokja; the first induces illusions of monsters attacking Kim Dokja, which he ignores since he knows they are fake, and the second one is the same manipulation skill that was used on Yoo Joonghyuk. However, the moment it is used, instead of being controlled, the [Fourth Wall] activates and exposes pages of Ways of Survival to Simulation. Stunned by what he sees, Simulation stares at Kim Dokja in awe, and just as Kim Dokja's sword is about to reach Simulation, the Theatre Master disappears in a flash of light. Kim Dokja is bewildered, but dismisses the situation when messages come up rewarding him for killing Simulation.
Kim Dokja looks back to Yoo Joonghyuk, seeing that he has been freed from the mind control, and hurries over to catch a fainting Lee Gilyoung. Jung Heewon and Lee Jihye make their way over, checking in with Kim Dokja about everyone's safety. They look out from the rooftop, gazing at the skyline of Seoul. The buildings of the landscape are visibly collapsed and ruined, with a translucent dome stretching over the entire city. As Lee Gilyoung regains consciousness, he draws their attention to a meteor shower in the distance, heralding the beginning of the next main scenario. The party members make wishes on the falling stars, and when Lee Gilyoung asks Kim Dokja what his wish was, Kim Dokja answers that he wished to see the novel's epilogue.[1]
