Episode 9: Chapter 38 - Omniscient Sunfish (2) is the thirty-eighth chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Summary[]
Kim Dokja uses [Fourth Wall] to negate the fear invoked by the T-Rex, then calls for his party to fall back. As the other people in the area are taken out by a swing of the dinosaur's tail, Kim Dokja orders Lee Gilyoung to stay back while Jung Heewon and Lee Jihye handle the dinosaur. Unexpectedly, Lee Gilyoung activates the [Dinosaur Book] skill and passes on information about the T-Rex's weaknesses. The party moves to attack the dinosaur, with Kim Dokja drawing its attention while the women attack it from the rear. While Kim Dokja's level 20 physique protects him from any hits he cannot dodge, the women combine their abilities and steadily chip away at the T-Rex.
Noticing that Kim Dokja is only narrowly missing hits from the T-Rex, Lee Gilyoung takes over distracting the T-Rex by summoning the Titanoptera from earlier and having it fly around in front of the dinosaur's face. Kim Dokja is impressed by his power, as well as the skill of the two women. He realizes that the T-Rex is weakening and prepares to deal the final blow, activating Unbreakable Faith's Ether Blade, uncaring of the magic power drain since he has a way to fix it later. He climbs onto the T-Rex's body and stabs it multiple times; it finally dies, and the party receives a coin payout for the achievement of successfully killing a 7th grade monster. With its death, the theatre owner is satisfied at the changed ending, and they are allowed to exit the movie.
Before they go, however, Kim Dokja finds and interrogates one of the men who was running from the T-Rex earlier. He is in extremely bad shape and close to death, but is able to answer Kim Dokja's questions, revealing that he came here based on a "revelation" received from the "prophets". As the man finally dies, Kim Dokja realizes that there is someone other than him who knows parts of Ways of Survival. Thinking it over, he calls for the party to take a break; they relax and eat meat from the T-Rex, after which they head over to the island's laboratory, killing the raptors they encounter along the way.
Inside the laboratory, Kim Dokja spots a number of Enhancement Ampoules for the four main stats. Pleased at his finding, he begins to pick up the rare items, only to be discovered by a stealthy Lee Jihye. She draws the attention of the other party members and proposes that they all split the ampoules between themselves. Jung Heewon defers the decision to Kim Dokja, but he agrees, proposing that they decide who gets each ampoule through a rock-paper-scissors tournament. Though Lee Jihye is excited at the familiar game, Kim Dokja simply smiles, readying [Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint] and reading the move she is preparing.[1]
