Episode 8: Chapter 36 - Emergency Defense (4) is the thirty-sixth chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Summary[]
Gong Pildu continues to shoot down the monsters an hour later while Kim Dokja, Lee Jihye, and the party look on in amusement. Kim Dokja asks after Yoo Joonghyuk's location, calculating how long he has been in the Theatre Dungeon. Realizing he needs to move fast, he calls Bihyung to open the Dokkaebi Bag, pointing out that as Bihyung's channel grows it's due for an advertisement anyway. Upon gaining access to the Bag, Kim Dokja pays to become a gold member and buys a Behind the Scenes Contract along with a handful of Magic Power Recovery Potions. Bihyung is nervous about the contract, but Kim Dokja brushes him off, filling out the contract as if to sponsor someone else.
Meanwhile, Gong Pildu begins to wear down, and his sponsor starts asking others for assistance. Kim Dokja calls out to get the duo's attention, offering to co-sponsor Gong Pildu. The sponsor is initially reluctant, and Bihyung is taken aback by Kim Dokja's impudence. Kim Dokja explains, however, that the sponsor, Defense Master, is a constellation whose coin balance is low and his story will run out should Gong Pildu die. Yoo Sangah speaks up, noting that this very occurrence might come about soon.
As Kim Dokja predicted, Defense Master asks about the contract, reading it over and adding conditions to ensure Gong Pildu's safety. Kim Dokja agrees, and the contract is formed. Kim Dokja immediately passes the potions to Yoo Sangah to hand on to Gong Pildu intermittently, and when his strength returns to him, Gong Pildu begins to threaten Kim Dokja, only to be silenced by him through the contract's command rights. Yoo Sangah and the constellations realize what Kim Dokja has done and are stunned, with some constellations becoming angry while others are deeply interested in him. As the constellations migrate to Bihyung's channel out of interest in Kim Dokja, Biryu's channel deteriorates and he is forced to leave.
Bihyung is shaken, asking if Kim Dokja was targeting Gong Pildu all along, but Kim Dokja does not respond, instead calling for his party's attention. He bids Yoo Sangah and Lee Hyunsung to stay in place while Lee Gilyoung and Jung Heewon are to accompany him in search of who he explains is a "bad person" who is "much worse" than Gong Pildu. Lee Jihye asks where he's going and he promptly answers that he is going to save Yoo Joonghyuk. She ridicules the idea that he might be in danger, but he simply confirms the dungeon that Yoo Joonghyuk has entered, recalls that Yoo Joonghyuk could only survive said dungeon many regressions later, and informs her that the regressor might die today. Kim Dokja believes that Yoo Joonghyuk is on a "sunfish route".[1]

Trivia[]
- This is the first time Kim Dokja refers to Yoo Joonghyuk as a "sunfish". The name is likely a reference to the game "Survive! Mola Mola" (mola mola is another name for a sunfish). In the game, you have to keep a sunfish alive and escape the dangers of the sea. However, the sunfish dies because of almost anything and one must start over many times in order to get anywhere.[2] This parallels how Yoo Joonghyuk needed over a thousand rounds in order to even approach a conclusive end to the scenarios, and how he died very easily particularly in the early rounds.
