Landlord (4) is the thirty-first chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.

Summary[]

Upon Bihyung's announcement, the station platform devolves into pandemonium. Kim Dokja peacefully stays out of the way reading Ways of Survival, much to the confusion of Bihyung and the constellations. Kim Dokja realizes that they cannot see him reading the text and wonders at tls123's power to create such a novel. Meanwhile, he converses idly with the boy who guided them earlier, promising not to take his green zone. Lee Jihye joins them and is intrigued by his relaxation, but Yoo Joonghyuk sends her back to her room, leaving Kim Dokja with a complicated glance.

The party members return, distressed and angry at not having found any free rooms. Kim Dokja offers two ways out of their current dilemma; the first, he explains, is less dangerous. The party begins to choose that option, but Yoo Sangah asks Kim Dokja to elaborate, and he explains that it would require killing a group of 5 people who had already taken a room for themselves. Lee Gilyoung is initially willing to do it, but the adults are reluctant to kill people who were relatively innocent, instead asking for the second method. Kim Dokja is relieved, having intended to use the second method all along, as it would be better for getting the constellations' attention. The party is somewhat exasperated at his slyness, for which he apologizes.

As he guides them to the tunnel leading to Euljiro-3, he explains that they won't have to kill anyone with this method, but will need to be strong-willed. They find the red zone from which the monsters will soon emerge, and Kim Dokja tells them that they will neither fight the monsters nor run to the next station. Instead, they will have to head towards the red zone before heading to the side, where he knows a green zone will be awaiting them. Running out of time to explain, he reminds Yoo Sangah, Jung Heewon, and Lee Hyunsung to work together, before pulling Lee Gilyoung along with himself.

Main Scenario 3 activates, and the three adults run off while Kim Dokja and Lee Gilyoung hang back. Monsters begin to emerge from the red zone, and the party manages to find the green zone, becoming safe. Meanwhile, Bihyung disables some green zones to heighten the situation; the boy from earlier dies as his zone disappears, killed by the rats. Lee Gilyoung asks Kim Dokja why he doesn't simply leave the boy behind, knowing that the party members are a liability to the intelligent and strong Kim Dokja. However, Kim Dokja doesn't like the idea of abandoning them to die, and tells him to hold on.[1]
