Episode 5: Chapter 23 - Dark Keeper (4) is the twenty-third chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Summary[]
Kim Dokja activates [Bookmark] and uses Lee Hyunsung's [Weapons Training] to incapacitate the Dark Keeper. Biryu and the watching constellations are stunned and awed at his decisive victory, the blade's durability runs out, and Broken Faith becomes unusable. At Kim Dokja's bidding, Biryu hands over the meager compensation for completing the sub scenario.
Kim Dokja refuses to kill the Dark Keeper despite Biryu offering large rewards for its death, and Han Myungoh kills it himself when the other man looks away. Kim Dokja and Han Myungoh both obtain rewards for the Dark Keeper's defeat, the latter earning significantly more than the former. Though Han Myungoh is gleeful at first at the incredible reward he obtains, he quickly panics when the Demon King Asmodeus lays a curse on him for killing one of his subordinates.
Kim Dokja searches through the Treasure Trove for items alongside Lee Gilyoung and Yoo Sangah, each retrieving their own items. Kim Dokja knows that Yoo Joonghyuk must have passed through and looted the place already. He then goes on to locate the Magic Power Stove, and cooks a ground rat's leg with it. The others grow excited and everyone comes over to eat. As they eat, Yoo Sangah becomes worried that she didn't contribute much to the fight, but Kim Dokja tells her she helped out with the translations.
He walks away as the others continue to eat and finds the box that formerly contained the Magic Power Stove, knowing that this is actually a useful item. He goes to explain its use to Yoo Sangah, but she manages to read the text on the front and identifies it as a Random Item Box. She urges him to use it, and somewhat embarrassed at her unintentional undermining of his explanation, he puts in Broken Faith as well as the 7th grade demon's nucleus he cut out of the Dark Keeper's body. He recalls the description of the Random Item Box's use from Ways of Survival as the box begins to glow with a dazzling light.[1]
