Episode 5: Chapter 21 - Dark Keeper (2) is the twenty-first chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Summary[]
The party successfully fights off the ground rats, with Lee Hyunsung and Jung Heewon. Lee Gilyoung and Yoo Sangah also fight well, though Kim Dokja expresses surprise at how quickly Yoo Sangah seems to have adapted. Han Myungoh, standing near the back, does not contribute to the fight at all.
Once the fight ends, Kim Dokja uses [Character List] on Lee Hyunsung, realizing his high strength is due to the Starter Pack bestowed on him by his sponsor, the Master of Steel. The party asks how they can cook the ground rats' meat for eating, and upon Kim Dokja's answer that "there will be a way". A large, hidden ground rat appears and attacks, seizing Han Myungoh and dragging him away. Han Myungoh grabs onto Yoo Sangah, and despite the others' attempts to save them, the two of them are pulled into a tunnel in the ground.
Kim Dokja notes that the hole they disappeared into has a strange energy around it; upon reading Ways of Survival on his phone, he recognizes the hole as the entrance to the "Edge of Darkness", the ground rats' habitat. He turns and informs the others that he and Lee Gilyoung will go into the hole to find their lost companions, while Jung Heewon (still somewhat incapacitated by her recent poisoning) and Lee Hyunsung (tasked with watching over Jung Heewon) will stay above ground.
Kim Dokja and Lee Gilyoung set out into the tunnel, able to walk normally on its walls despite its completely vertical nature. They are unable to see due to the dark ether filling the tunnel, and as they walk, Lee Gilyoung asks if Kim Dokja let Yoo Sangah and Han Myungoh be captured on purpose. Upon his agreement, the watching constellations are taken aback, but Kim Dokja explains that he knew they would be taken to the treasure trove of the rats, which he was targeting all along. Lee Gilyoung dismisses this, reasoning that if Kim Dokja was that cruel he would not have saved Lee Gilyoung in the train. He then asks about Kim Dokja's knowledge of the scenarios and whether they will be allowed a "wish" at the end of the scenarios. Kim Dokja lies that there will be. At this point, they reach the end of the tunnel and enter the Ground Rat's Treasure Trove.[1]
