Episode 5: Chapter 20 - Dark Keeper (1) is the twentieth chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
Summary[]
The satisfied dokkaebi disappears, and Kim Dokja explains to Jung Heewon that he predicted what the dokkaebis would do to harass the incarnations. Cheon Inho announces to the station inhabitants that they will now only distribute food rations to scouts, and many people begin signing up as scouts. Kim Dokja's party grows tense at the realization that they too must sign up if they want to eat, but Kim Dokja soothes them, reminding them that they can now hunt monsters as food.
Cheon Inho, upon learning of their plans, sends a reluctant Han Myungoh to go hunting in the tunnels with them. Meanwhile, after predicting Cheon Inho's thoughts, Kim Dokja begins to understand the mechanisms of his [Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint] skill. The six-strong party receives the sub scenario Food Acquisition as they advance into the dark tunnels.
Upon going further into the tunnels, the party finds the scene of a large-scale massacre, with human and monster bodies alike littering the ground. Kim Dokja thinks that the monsters were most likely slaughtered by Yoo Joonghyuk as he moved forward. Then, explaining that the sub scenario requires them to hunt monsters and not simply scavenge from the dead ones, Kim Dokja uses his weapon to cut open a ground rat and extract its spine, which he then carves into a makeshift sword for Jung Heewon's use. While she sharpens the sword, the others set to work making themselves spears using similar methods.
Interested by their actions, some constellations sponsor them coins, and Kim Dokja advises the others to invest coins in their stats whenever possible. They advance once more, now fully armed, and encounter 13 more ground rats, which they move to attack.[1]
