Episode 38: Chapter 199 - Fake Revolutionary (1) is the one hundred and ninety-ninth chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.

Summary[]

A system message announces that someone has made a "Revolutionary Declaration." In the demon realm, the revolutionary existed as a point of hope for the citizens—the only existence that can threaten the powerful demon dukes.

The other pubgoers admire Kim Dokja in awe while he shamelessly mocks the executioner. However, despite making a revolutionary declaration, Kim Dokja is an exile, and not the real revolutionary, so a hidden scenario 'Self-Proclaimed Revolutionary' is triggered. While his exile penalty is slightly attenuated due to the scenario, system messages briefly explain that he has been given a status which allows him to become the real revolutionary if that person is to die.

The executioner places a mark of death on Kim Dokja and starts to attack him. They also close the space, which forcibly stops Kim Dokja from leaving the pub, and uses their 'Execution' skill, which ignores the defense of an opponent and could not be endured by a citizen. However, since Kim Dokja is an exile outside of the scenario, and not a citizen, he is not subject to the power of the main scenario and the execution effect doesn't work. To everyone's surprise, Kim Dokja is able to block the executioner's scythe with his Blade of Faith. However, the scenario still protects the executioner so Kim Dokja activates Way of the Wind and starts to mostly dodge and block to buy time.

After 30 minutes of fighting, the executioner starts to laugh, having also spent the time gathering the other executioners, who suddenly appear and swing their scythes. However, the blades are all miraculously stopped in midair.

In the revolutionary scenario, there are not just executioners and revolutionaries, but more characters—such as a guardian. The guardian can use their vitality to protect a target of their choosing and release the mark of death, but they wouldn't want to do so without knowing who the revolutionary was. Conscious of this, Kim Dokja planned to make a prominent declaration to lure out the guardian, who uses their protection to save his life. Because the Night ends upon the lifting of the mark of death, which can only be used once every Night, the executioners are all forced to retreat. The other incarnations cheer at the emergence of a new revolutionary: for the first time in decades, no one has died tonight.
