Episode 35: Chapter 185 - The 73rd Demon King (4) is the one hundred and eighty-fifth chapter of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.

Summary[]

Kim Dokja shouts after Yoo Joonghyuk, and runs toward him. However, Yoo Joonghyuk, who is already holding the jade, starts to evolve into the 73rd Demon King. Kim Dokja recalls Yoo Joonghyuk asking for his promise to not give up on his goal to reach the end of the scenarios.

While the rest of the party is stuck frozen in shock, Yoo Sangah is able to uses her wires to snatch the jade in Yoo Joonghyuk's hands, cancelling the demon king succession. Kim Dokja protects Yoo Sangah from Yoo Joonghyuk, who immediately blows everyone else away.

Kim Dokja looks at the new scenario window and realizes, like Yoo Joonghyuk did, that there is only one way to clear the scenario. In the new 10th Main Scenario, one must either take possession of the demon king throne and become the 73rd demon king, or kill the newly born 73rd demon king. The scenario specifically clarifies that it only be cleared by choosing one of these two methods.

Yoo Joonghyuk remains committed to becoming the new demon king. He asks Kim Dokja to hunt him afterwards so that the rest could proceed to the next scenarios. Already having concluded that no other option would suffice, Yoo Joonghyuk points to the scenario failure conditions, which states that a loser would face "expulsion from the scenario," and not just death, meaning that not even Kim Dokja's resurrection would work. Kim Dokja tries to read Yoo Joonghyuk's thoughts, but he sees little hope: Yoo Joonghyuk, knowing there is no way to survive being expelled from the scenario, is fully ready to sacrifice himself, believing Kim Dokja's life to be more valuable than his own.

Kim Dokja asks Yoo Joonghyuk about the other's goal to save the world, but he expresses his belief in Kim Dokja to fulfill it in his stead. Yoo Joonghyuk looks upon the party, and regretfully realizes that there may never be another group of people like this in any other regression round. He tells Kim Dokja that he his sponsor had said that the world wouldn't disappear if he regressed. Easily suppressing Yoo Sangah, he takes the jade back, starts to evolve, and once more asks Kim Dokja to continue to live and to save the world.

Meanwhile, outside the dark castle, thunder strikes, while Lee Boksoon and Lee Sookyung watch the sky. Lee Sookyung wistfully expresses her unfamiliarity in being a mother. She constantly worries about the fate placed upon her son.

Lee Boksoon attempts to console her, but Lee Sookyung is not convinced that fate can be so easily overcome. She remembers her relentless determination to stop the fate heralding Kim Dokja's death, up to being eaten by the Fourth Wall. Even through the terrible pain, she still asked the wall for the way her son could live. Although her existence was fading away at that moment, she also manages to remember the the wall saying that Kim Dokja already knew the one way to escape from fate.
